| Job Description | 1. Position: Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT); JG: KUH 2; [REF No: DICT/VERT3/2025].Job PurposeThe Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will provide strategic leadership and direction for all ICT functions across KUTRRH. This role is pivotal in ensuring the development, implementation and maintenance of secure, innovative and cost-effective technology infrastructure and applications that support high-quality healthcare delivery and enhance patient experience. Duties and responsibilitiesReporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will: i. Provide guidance on the hospital’s ICT strategy development and implementation; ii. Oversee IT infrastructure, systems development and information security programs; iii. Advise senior management on emerging technologies including telemedicine and e-Health; iv. Promote sound ICT governance and ensure compliance with relevant standards; v. Drive business continuity and disaster recovery strategies; vi. Supervise and mentor ICT staff, fostering a high-performance culture; vii. Initiate policy and regulations review on computing management. viii. Manage ICT projects, vendors and service-level agreements; ix. Ensure optimal performance of business systems and infrastructure; x. Translate business needs into innovative ICT solutions. xi. Monitor departmental performance and contribute to strategic planning. xii. Prepare and submit Board and Management reports. xiii. Implement recommendations of internal and external audits. xiv. Manage and lead ICT teams for excellence in service delivery. xv. Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess: i. Bachelor in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, ii. A Master’s degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Business Information Technology or related equivalent from a recognized institution; iii. Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, ITIL practitioner, PRINCE-2 or PMP, CGEIT or COBIT-2019, or TOGAF; iv. Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ISACA, CSK, ISC2); v. Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management level or a comparable position. vi. Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution. vii. Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution. i. Strategic thinking and innovation in ICT solutions ii. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities; iii. Excellent project management and vendor oversight; iv. High-level proficiency in cybersecurity and IT governance; v. Results-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making skills; vi. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
