Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetics services by assisting in the development and implementation of therapeutic diet plans, conducting nutrition care processes, supporting patient management, and contributing to nutrition data collection and reporting.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Nutrition & Dietetics, the position holder will be responsible for the following: 

      i.        Assisting in preparing and implementing therapeutic diet plans for inpatients and outpatients.

    ii.        Providing guidelines on therapeutic diets for existing and emerging diseases for hospital and home-based care.

   iii.        Conducting nutrition care processes, including screening and assessment of patients.

   iv.        Implementing nutrition interventions and evaluating outcomes to ensure effective patient management.

    v.        Supporting the development and dissemination of nutrition behavior change communication materials.

   vi.        Collecting and compiling nutrition and dietetic data and preparing accurate reports.

  vii.        Any other duty as may be assigned.

Job Specification

Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements

          i.    Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

        ii.    Registration by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute. 

       iii.    Valid license by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute. 

       iv.    Proficiency in computer applications.
