| Job Description | Job PurposeTo provide strategic leadership, coordination, and management of the security function within the Hospital by developing, implementing, and monitoring security policies, systems, and procedures that ensure the safety and protection of staff, patients/clients, visitors, assets, and facilities.Duties and responsibilitiesReporting to the Deputy Director, Administration, the position holder will be responsible for the following: i. Developing security policies, regulations, rules, norms, protocols and procedures. ii. Managing security risks and implementing proactive mitigation strategies in line with the Hospital’s Risk Management Framework. iii. Providing leadership in planning, coordinating, and monitoring security operations. iv. Ensuring the environment is safe for staff, clients/patients and visitors. v. Coordinating response to security emergencies and alarms. vi. Reviewing reports on security incidents and breaches. vii. Coordinating investigations and resolving security breaches and issues. viii. Monitoring security policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements. ix. Analyzing and evaluating security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement. |
| Job Specification | Key Qualifications and Experience Requirementsi. Bachelor degree in Criminology & Security Studies or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. ii. Master degree in Criminology & Security Studies or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. iii. At least twelve (12) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at supervisory level. iv. Six (6) weeks approved security course from the Kenya Police Service or the Kenya Defense Forces. v. Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution. vi. Proficiency in computer applications. vii. Compliance with Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. Core Competenciesi. Strategic risk management and security operations planning. ii.
